England vs Germany Betting Preview for the International Friendly
England play old rivals Germany in a friendly this Tuesday 19th November at Wembley. The match will be screened live on ITV1 in the UK.
This looks to be an interesting game from a betting perspective, England were solid if unspectacular during world cup qualifying, but got something of a reality check in Friday’s friendly with Chile where they were outpassed and outhustled by a fast and technical Chile side.
Germany currently stand at number 2 in the world rankings and will be a tough test for Roy Hodgson’s side, Germany have developed a generation of technical, talented players which will make them an immensely tough opponent on Tuesday.
There is no such thing as a friendly between Germany and England so it can be assumed that both teams will be well up for the game and trying to win.
England vs Germany – Outright Betting Odds
England 85/40 (BetVictor)
Germany 11/8 (Betfred and Totesport)
Draw 5/2 (Skybet and BetVictor)
The bookies have rightly made Germany the favourites for the game in the outright market, 11/8 is a decent price still for the second best team in the world who will have the likes of Ozil, Kroos, Gotze, Muller, Reus and the rest to choose from.
England on the other hand look to have a few injuries but still recall some of the more experienced players – Ashley Cole, Joe Hart and Steven Gerrard look likely to return to the starting lineup.
England vs Germany – 1st Goalscorer Betting
Looking at the first goalscorer market there are a couple of standouts that we think are worth a punt.
For Germany, Marco Reus has been in good scoring form this season for Borussia Dortmund and is available at 13/2 with Skybet, Thomas Muller also has a habit of popping up with important goals and can be got at 7/1 with Ladbrokes.
For England, the ever-reliable Wayne Rooney is bound to play in this game and can be got at 7/1 with Ladbrokes. Andros Townsend is likely to play and after his impressive performances against Poland and Montenegro, could well pop up with a goal at 14/1 with Coral.
Both teams to score
Yes 4/6 (Bet365)
No 6/5 (Coral)
A popular form of betting now is both teams to score betting, all the major bookies offer this market and the odds are above for guidance if you fancy a punt. William Hill offer Both teams to score and match result doubles, so for example you could choose Germany to win the match and both teams to score in a double.
Both teams have scored in each of the last 4 encounters between this team and that is going to make up our selection for this match.
