Super Bowl 2015 XLIX Betting Tips & Preview
In what could well be an all-time classic, the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks will go head to head on Sunday February 1st at Super Bowl XLIX. The climax of this NFL season looks set to be a particularly lively affair, with plenty of controversy ensuing during the build up to this American Football showpiece. Whether it be the interviews of Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, or the ball tampering by the Pats in their semi final with the Colts, there have been a number of talking points that will ensure the climax to the NFL season is a particularly exciting affair.
SuperBowl 2015 Outright Odds Market
The odds compilers are struggling to split the two teams that will contest Super Bowl XLIX, with nearly all firm going 10/11 the pair. As the defending champions, the Seattle Seahawks were always going to be well fancied for this season’s crown, but the New England Patriots are also no strangers to the Super Bowl, with a number of the current squad having already contested this prestigious event.
This will be just the third time in twenty one season where the top seeds from the AFC and NFC will meet in the Super Bowl, although it did also happen at Super Bowl XLVIII. The fact that Seattle were such impressive winners against the Denver Broncos on that occasion really sticks in the mind, and the reigning champions might just serve up more of the same come Sunday.
In Tom Brady, New England have one of the very best quarterbacks in NFL history at their disposal, and while he may be in the twilight of his career, Brady has shown throughout this campaign that he can still mix it with the very best players in the NFL and will be key to the Pats’ chances of success at Super Bowl XLIX.
Brady has already acquired three Super Bowl rings, and will go down in history whether or not he wins a fourth this weekend. However, Tom Brady’s recent Super Bowl record is not the same as the earlier part of his career, and Brady’s performances in his two most recent Super Bowl outings have been less than stellar. This is something that may well play on the mind of the thirty seven year old, and might hinder the Patriots’ chances of success.
Tom Brady could put those demons to bed and carry his excellent playoff form into the big match, but for me, anyone supporting the New England Patriots at Super Bowl XLIX is with the underdog. The Pats have improved in other areas however, and their secondary is now arguably the best in the business. If they are going to be victorious on Sunday, I think the Pats will to rely on players other than Tom Brady.
While their start to the campaign wasn’t the best, the Seattle Seahawks have come in strong in the latter part of the season, and are now on course to make a successful defence of their Super Bowl crown.
The key to Seattle’s success over the past few months has definitely been the fact that they retained thirty four of the players who were a part of the Super Bowl XLVIII winning squad. Continuity is a big thing, and although the Seahawks were probably still basking in the glory of success in the early weeks this season, they soon got back to winning ways and now look like the side who stormed to a breath-taking 43-8 victory over the Denver Broncos exactly twelve months ago.
The fact that they have been there, seen it and done it so recently, will be a huge plus for Pete Carroll’s men and I strongly fancy the Seattle Seahawks to complete back to back Super Bowl victories.
